Owner
(sister): Well, it’s a farm Peter Baker: In remarkable condition. They’re all British toys – was your father overseas when he bought them? Owner
(brother): My father was overseas but to the best of my knowledge
the majority of Peter Baker: Oh, were they? Owner (brother): There must have been specialty stores of some sort in the Winnipeg area because that’s where we lived during the War. Peter
Baker: The condition of these objects, the fact that you have
the original boxes in many of the cases is a big factor. To collectors
of toys condition is everything and the box alone, people would pay the
same price for the box without the toy inside just because it’s
so I
think if we’re looking at the value as a collection, easily $1500
to $2000, I Owners: (together): Wow! Peter
Baker: And you probably wouldn’t want to sell them separately,
but, you know, the value is in these units, the larger units, with the
boxes and the condition – that’s the key, and if you let anyone
play with them, make sure they’re careful. (laughter)
