Behind
the Scenes
Great
Finds from Edmonton

Halifax-based
appraiser Bill Brayley was tickled pink when he saw this under water helmet
in the line up outside
the Alberta Aviation Museum. Not only was it a curious item to see in
Edmonton, as a former diver, Bill was delighted to have a chance to appraise
it. A prop from the movie 3000 Miles to Graceland, the owner had purchased
the item in an antiques store in Vancouver. Made by the Morse Company,
Bill valued it at between $2500-3000.

A
beautiful Imperial German Beer Stein from World War One made its way to
Ross Wilson’s table. Its owner had first seen it while he was stationed
in Germany with the RCAF. At that time, the stein’s owner had offered
it to him as a memento of his time in Germany, but he’d turned him
down. Over 40 years later, on a return visit to Germany the man was once
again offered the stein and this time he accepted. A wonderful story and
a great item valued at between $1000-1500.
