Q & A

M.N. of Morinville, Alberta writes:

I was wondering if you could tell me how much you think this truck is worth. It is blue as you can see, it has the word WOODWARDS on the trailer, the trailer door is unfortunately missing and the front grill is missing but everything else is intact. It is fairly rusted as you can see but all wheels are intact. All I know so far is that it is one of the rarest in Canada and that it was made by Lincoln toys.

We asked Ed Locke to respond:

The market is quite strong these days for Canadian toy trucks from the 1950s and early 1960s made by Lincoln, London Toys & Minnitoys. The Woodwards truck is not common and in decent played with condition would be worth $400.00 to $500.00. It would be worth double that in mint condition, but I'm afraid your truck has been well played with & has spent too much time in the sand box. I would value it at $50.00 to $100.00. The metal on these trucks is thick enough that some collectors are sandblasting and repainting these trucks. I don't know about the back door but the Lincoln grills are being remade because a missing grill is fairly common
