Q & A

B. T. from Sherwood Park, Alberta writes:Chinese Vase

I have a vase that I hope someone can give me some information on. It has no provenance because it was purchased on Ebay. I paid $69.00 US for it. The mark on the bottom of the vase is only partially there. The porcelain on the bottom inside is very orange peel looking and it also has some inclusions in the glaze. It also has a firing flaw on the rim and some normal wear on the bats on the neck. I hope this helps some.

We asked Colin Ritchie to respond:

This is a decorative Chinese Porcelain Vase dating from the mid 20th century and made for export. No size was provided so it is difficult so estimate value. You stated that it was purchased on Ebay for $ 69.00 which seems fair enough, not likely worth any more.
