Tim has a reputation in the business as a dealer of high quality porcelain, pottery, American and European Art Glass, oriental antiques, and sculpture. Originally from Ireland, Tim has been in the antiques trade for 25 years.

 

Shawne MacIntyreShawn MacIntyre
Based in Vancouver, Shawne operates MacIntyre Appraisals & Consulting, specializing in the appraisal of fine and decorative art. An accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers and a graduate of the Master of Museum Studies program at the University of Toronto, Shawne appraises Canadian, European, American and Japanese fine art and antiques. In her spare time, she can be found amassing her collection of vintage handbags.


Charlotte McGheeCharlotte McGhee
Charlotte owns M&G Appraisals and is an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers in both Canada and the United States. Charlotte spends her spare time attending auctions and selling antiques and collectibles privately. Her areas of expertise include fine and decorative arts.

 

John McGowanJohn McGowan
John has over 40 years of experience in the antiques trade and has owned his own shop since 1970. He is particularly interested in Canadian glass, and 20th century Saskatchewan collectibles including medaltaware.

 

Diane McleanDiane Mclean
A graduate of Sir George Williams University, Diane began collecting in London, Ontario in 1966, and has developed over the years into a serious collector of dolls, teddy bears, samplers, antique jewelry, and interesting smalls. Still an avid collector with a fascination of all things antique, Diane participates in the occasional antique show. Some pieces in her collection can be seen at www.vininghill.com.

 

Donald McLean
Donald McLeanDon is the Vice President of Waddington's™ and heads the Jewellery and Watch Department. His 18 years of experience gives him in-depth knowledge of both domestic and international markets. Donald received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Geology from Carleton University, and earned his F.G.A. with distinction from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. Donald is a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, as well as several mineralogical associations.

 

Andre Papanicolaou
Andre PapanicolaouAndre developed an early interest in jewellery and watches working in his father’s workshop. He graduated from the Canadian Jewellers Institute in 1999 and in 2005 he was commissioned to revise their Watch Sales and Service Manual. In 2006 he was one of only three Canadians invited by Cartier to visit the factory in La-Chaux-de Fonds to take their Horology training. He speaks English, French and Greek fluently.

 

Ted PappasTed Pappas
A fourth generation evaluator and auctioneer, (his company dates back to 1913) Ted’s company was the very first to hold a live auction on the Internet. Ted has experience dealing with art, jewellery, oriental art and native arts.

 

 

Gabrielle PeacockGabrielle Peacock
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Sotheby’s Educational Institute in London, Gabrielle is a specialist in Canadian art with Ritchie’s. She has been responsible for cultivating wide-spread interest in several niche and emerging markets including “Painters 11 and their Contemporaries,” “The Prints of David Blackwood” and “Eclectic Ephemera and Works from the Estate of Harold Town.”

 

Walter PeddleWalter Peddle
Walter has been involved in the culture of Newfoundland for many years. He was the co-founder of the Fisherman’s Museum Art and Music Centre, has acted as the curator foe several exhibits for the Provincial Museum of Newfoundland and has traveled extensively throughout the province compiling an inventory of outport furniture. He is the author of ‘The Dynamics of Outport Furniture Design,’ and is a well-known authority on the subject.

 

Estela PelegrinEstela Pelegrin
Estela is an independent appraiser and jeweller with her own company
E.P.G. Consulting/In House Appraisals, contracting out to auction houses, jewellers, and the private customers as well as teaching jewellery appraisal classes at a Vancouver Community College.

Estela started her jewellery apprenticeship at 18 years of age, under a Master Jeweller that happened to be her own father, Eduardo Pelegrin. Under his guidance, Estela has not only learned the entire handicraft that is involved in creating a piece of jewellery, but also the exquisiteness of designs that is the European art of jewellery. After successfully completing her seven-year apprenticeship, which included the art of diamond and gem setting, Estela graduated with an F.C.Gm.A (Fellow of Canadian Gemmological Association), through the, C.G.A (Canadian Gemmological Association). After graduating Estela went on and worked for a Diamond dealer in Vancouver as a Gemmologist as well as with a local Gemmological Laboratory.

 

Erik PetersErik Peters
Erik’s career in the field of fine art has spanned thirty years. A graduate of the International Society of Appraisers Personal Property Appraisals course, Erik’s expertise is in the area of Canadian fine art, but he also has experience and expertise in American and European art. He is based in Toronto.

 

 

Gale PirieGale Pirie
In addition to being a certified personal property appraiser since 2000, Gale was also the Program Director for Ridge Meadows College. Her work as an appraiser requires her to report for family division of chattels, pre-loss insurance, estate distribution, and inventory evaluation for financial purposes. Gale’s specialty is in porcelain and pottery.

 

Marvin Post
Marvin Post Marvin Post has owned and operated Attic Books in London for over 30 years. It is now one of Canada's largest antiquarian bookstores. He is a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of Canada and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. He regularly attends Antiquarian Bookfairs across Canada (Victoria to Halifax). Attic Books carries antiquarian books, books about book collecting, vintage photographs, postcards, ephemera, maps and prints. Marvin appraises a variety of archives, books and other donations for a number of public institutions for insurance and tax purposes. He has a fondness for bright shoes and only recently had his beard trimmed to the praise and delight of his staff and friends.

 

Sean QuinnSean Quinn
Sean graduated a Horologist (clock-maker) from George Brown College in 1982, and apprenticed for five years with prominent clock-maker Raymond Fugeman in Markham, Ontario. Sean has worked for Henry Birks & Sons Jewellers, and for Piaget, Corum, and Movado watches in Canada. His interest in antiques developed at an early age as he accompanied his mother to countless farm auctions.

 

Stephen RangerStephen Ranger
An appraiser with Ritchie’s since 1985, Stephen is the company’s current President. Stephen’s areas of expertise include antique furniture, oriental rugs, carpets and other textiles. In addition to his duties at Ritchies, Stephen teaches courses on carpet connoisseurship at the Royal Ontario Museum.

 

Michael RemenyiMichael Remenyi
Michael is a third generation maker of musical instruments who has studied and traveled extensively in pursuit of knowledge. In 1976, Michael was appointed to vet antique instruments for Canada Customs and later worked with the Ontario Arts Council to establish Canada’s first instrument bank. Michael’s areas of expertise include stringed instruments, violins, pianos and antique keyboard instruments as well as plucked instruments, brass and woodwind instruments.

Bert RiggsBert Riggs
Bert has a Masters degree in archival studies from the University of Toronto and has been the head archivist at the Centre for Newfoundland Studies since 1989. Bert is well versed on the unique study of “Newfoundlandiana” which includes everything from postcards to calendars and autographs to artefactual items. He has been appraising these items for over 25 years.

 

Colin Ritchie
Colin has had a long and distinguished career in the antiques business beginning with his position as Department Head at Sotheby’s in England. Currently the West Coast representative for Waddington’s, Colin’s areas of expertise includes fine art, textiles, ethnographica, art nouveau, art deco, oriental art and carpets.

 

Maureen RobinMaureen Robin
Maureen is a well-known dealer with over 40 years of collecting experience. Instantly recognizable by her pearl-buttoned vest, Maureen has a wide range of expertise, but is particularly interested in glass, china and prairie items.

 

Howard RoloffHoward Roloff
Howard has enjoyed a successful career in the North American Native Art trade for more than 30 years. Born in Chicago, Howard’s expertise in Native Art has been used by museums and universities world wide. He is the author of numerous books and articles and has done appraisals for Revenue Canada, several provinces and numerous States. He works from Vancouver Island.

 

Richard Rosewell
Originally from the pottery manufacturing centre of Britain, Stoke-on-Trent, Richard immigrated to Canada in 1971 and established his first antiques shop in Calgary in 1980. Over the years, Richard has been an antiques course instructor, a radio phone-in show host and an appraiser for numerous organizations. His areas of expertise include pottery and porcelain, glassware, furniture and silver. As well as operating an antiques store, Mildred’s Memorabilia, Richard and his wife Elizabeth operate holiday rental cottages.

 

Michael RowanMichael Rowan
Michael has been in the antique business for over 30 years, specializing in 19th century folk furniture and accessories. A Fine Arts graduate, Michael co-authored the book Ukrainian Pioneer Furniture and was the Co-publisher of the East Georgian Bay Historical Journal.

 

John RushJohn Rush
John was born in the U.K. in 1946. After taking degrees in Geology and Philosophy at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, he came to McMaster University, Hamilton, in 1968 to pursue an M.A. in philosophy. On getting married he became a Mr Mum and while caring for two children developed his book business in which he has now been involved for nearly thirty years. His especial love and interest is in Canadiana and in that field the rare, unusual and ephemeral rather than the valuable. He knows as much as anyone about the bad books of poetry written by women with three names who toil in obscure villages. With a great deal of pleasure he became, this year (2006) a Canadian.
