Liz
Isaac
Liz has been involved in the antiques business in Saint John for thirty-five
years, working as an appraiser, auctioneer, retailer and buyer. Liz has
taken courses in period jewellery and gemstones and is interested in porcelain,
glass and furniture.
Tim
Isaac
Tim has enjoyed a thirty-five year career as both an antiques dealer and
auctioneer. A charter member of the Canadian Association of Personal Property
Appraisers and a past president of the Maritime Antique Dealer's Association,
Tim's vast knowledge of antiques includes expertise in furniture, porcelain
and pottery and silver.
Doug
Jarvis
Doug has produced toy shows in Canada for over 30 years and presently
produces the three largest toy, train, and doll shows in Canada each year.
He is a member of the Antique Toy Collectors' of America, United Federation
of Doll Clubs, and The Golden Glow of Christmas Past. Doug was the founding
president of the Canadian Toy Collectors' Society and regularly does talks
and displays of toys for various organizations.
Jon
Kehn
A teacher by trade, John has been in the antiques business since 1989,
when he opened Home Again Antiques in Brockville. He has taught a course
in Antiques at St Lawrence College over the past few years and his own
personal areas of interest include 18th and 19th century furniture, glass
and general items.
Bill
Kime
Bill is considered one of North America’s foremost experts on 19th
and 20th century decorative arts, including Moorcroft, silver, ceramics,
glass and sculpture. Educated in England, Bill studied at Sotheby’s
and the Victoria and Albert Museum before joining Waddington’s in
Toronto in 1975.
Kevin
King
A member of the Alberta Auctioneers Association and a past member of the
Canadian Art Dealer’s Association, Kevin has organized touring exhibitions
of international art to Germany, England, Switzerland and the United States.
He conducts two major art auctions each year for his company Hodgins Art
Auctions where he has built his reputation by appraising thousands of
works of fine art.
Andrew
Kirk
Andrew has spent the past 13 years building, restoring and repairing violins,
violas and cellos. He maintained the Yale Collection of String Instruments
while living in Connecticut and has lectured, exhibited and spoken about
musical instruments up and down the eastern seaboard.
Jeanette
Langmann
Jeannette began her training at a very young age, working with her father
Uno. A director of the Art Dealers Association of Canada, Jeanette specializes
in European masters of the 19th and early 20thcenturies as well as antique
furniture, silver and objets d’art. She works with her father, Uno,
in Vancouver.
Uno
Langmann
Uno is one of Canada’s most respected specialists in North American
and European paintings from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. In addition
to art, Uno is also well-versed in antique furniture, silver and objets
d’art. He owns Uno Langmann Limited in Vancouver.
Leslie
Lawrence
Leslie started buying and selling Art Deco and Victorian novelties from
a very young age, but her passion is jewellery. As manger of and buyer
for Fireworks Gallery in Halifax, Leslie enjoys exposure to a wide variety
of jewellery. Her interest has taken her from Newark Fair to Portobello
Road, places she calls a “constant college for the collector.”
David
Loch
David owns the Loch Gallery in Winnipeg. The gallery specializes in contemporary
Canadian art with an emphasis on Manitoban art. David also has expertise
in Group of Seven and European art and has offered office and guidance
to major Canadian collectors. Over the course of his thirty years in the
business, David has served on the board of the Canadian Cultural Property
Export Review as well as other boards and organizations.
Ed
Locke
Ed has been in the antiques business for 30 years specializing in advertising,
toys and other forms of nostalgia. He co-authored the book the Canadian
Country Store Collectables and has promoted shows specifically for nostalgia
for three decades.
Ray
Long
Ray has been collecting pottery, furniture and ephemera for 25 years.
Ray has a particular interest in local and Maritime history and as such
is qualified to appraise a variety of local items including Deichmann,
Lorenzen, Foley and Canuk pottery as well as photographs, letters, land
grants, souvenirs and other paper items.
Ian
Lumsden
Ian is the former curator, director and CEO of the Beaverbrook Gallery.
Currently a Research Fellow with the National Gallery of Canada, Ian has
done appraisal work for the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Art Gallery of
Newfoundland and Labrador, University of New Brunswick, St. Thomas University,
Province of New Brunswick and several other regional museums.
Burton
Lysecki
Beginning with a small paperback and comic book store in 1971, Burton
has been a fixture on the Winnipeg book scene for 35 years. He specializes
in Military, History, Western Canadian and books on local history and
has over 80,000 volumes in his store. He is a member of the Antiquarian
Booksellers Association of Canada and the International League of Antiquarian
Booksellers.
