Halifax Roadshow lineups

The Canadian Antiques Roadshow rolled into Halifax on Mother’s Day of 2004. Halifax was settled by Colonel Edward Cornwallis (and 2500 others) and was christened 'Halifax' in honour of Lord Halifax, President of the British Board of Trade in 1749. Halifax’s harbour is the second largest in the world (Sydney comes first).

We held our appraisal’s day at Pier 21. Over one million immigrants passed through the doors of Pier 21 from 1928-1971. Canada’s ‘front door’ to war brides, refugees, children and wartime evacuees was refurbished and reopened in 1999 as a tribute to those who passed through its doors and changed the landscape of Canada forever.

It was a fitting venue for the Canadian Antiques Roadshow because we, too, are dedicated to telling the stories of Canadians.
